RACING CAR DRIVER WATCH TYPE 2 DAYTONA BEACH
€69.00
Racing driver watches paying homage to some of the historic racing circuits that pioneered the world of motorsport. This racing pilot watch is named in tribute to the Daytona Beach and Road Course, which hosted car races between 1902 and 1958 and contributed to the formation and development of NASCAR (National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing).
In the early years at the Daytona beach circuit, up to 15 world land speed records were set (later records have been surpassed at the Bonneville Salt Flats, Utah). The beach circuit closed in 1958 once the permanent Daytona Racing Speedway was opened, which held its first Daytona 500 in 1959.
The white lines on a blue background are a variation of the Cunningham Racing Stripes that first appeared on the Shelby Daytona Coupe at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1964 and 1965.
